The Executive Chairman of Jos South Local Government Hon. Silas Patrick Dung, has formally received the interim report from the Task Force on Project Monitoring and Evaluation, outlining a framework for auditing inherited and ongoing projects across the LGA.
During the handover ceremony, the Deputy ALGON Chairman acknowledged inheriting a mix of abandoned and uncompleted projects from previous administrations.
He stated that the Task Force was created precisely to scrutinize existing projects, not just initiate new ones, emphasizing that the team’s mandate includes investigating project histories.
With the report now in hand, the Chairman pledged swift action on its findings to optimize resource use across inherited and new projects.
Simultaneously, the Executive Chairman laid the foundation for a multipurpose town hall in Kwang.
Addressing the community, the Chairman declared the event a significant opportunity to deliver on promises made during his campaign.
The planned “Hei Du Multipurpose Town Hall” in Kwang, Du B, is designed to accommodate 1,000 people. It will include different facilities. Beyond providing space, the Chairman envisions it as a hub for community dialogue and progress.
Hon. Silas has also inaugurated the second batch of trainees at ZD Fashion Academy, sponsored by the local government. Addressing participants selected from across Jos South, he underscored the value of vocational skills over formal education alone.
Trainees were urged to demonstrate commitment. The program aims to create future entrepreneurs who can train others, with the local government pledging close monitoring of progress.
